Goooood Morning!!! Day 1 of my challenges! What were they
again? To wake before the sunrise in gratitude instead of waking up angry or
irritated because I was woken up by the cat or whatever disturbance it could
be. And to practice reminding myself upon waking that I am in control of how I
feel and while sleeping the law of attraction ceased, so as I wake I have the
power to choose what to think about. Here’s the Abraham Hicks quote again,
“Hey! I’m awake! And Hey the law of
attraction is beginning again! And Hey while I was slumbering my point of
attraction ceased! And Hey I get to choose what I focus upon! What would be a
good thing for me to focus upon!?!”
Lately I’ve been focusing on having the best days ever! In
the morning I repeat to myself that I am having the best morning ever and as
the day continues I remind myself I am having the best day ever. This way I do
everything in my power to have the best day ever. Frank left a note on one of
the cupboards that I’ve been utilizing a lot. It says, “Today I shall judge
nothing that occurs.” This has been helping me a lot. I began reading it aloud
every time I looked at it. I struggle with judgment, and since I work from home
most of my judgments involve the beings and things in the home. I am noticing
great improvement in my thoughts since I began doing this. I no longer need to
read it when I walk by the note, now it comes to mind every time I begin to
judge. How wonderful! I shall judge nothing that occurs!

Today I awoke before Delano. He was curled up at the end of the
bed but as soon as I looked at him, he looked at me and not too much later he
was up and moving about. It was about quarter past 5am. I gave Delano some nice
pets as he sat down by my head and then we got up. My mornings before sunrise consist
of washing dishes, cleaning cat boxes, feeding the cats, and cleaning myself
before the day begins. Lately I’ve been trying to do more of these morning
chores at night, especially with the sun rises getting earlier and earlier.
Last night was successful so this morning leaves me with more time for this!
And playing with the cats using the laser pointer, it’s much more fun for them
in the dark. I did tend to the cat boxes, changing and cleaning one, and rinsed
out some recyclables. This is the first morning I have brought my laptop down
to the kitchen and began writing.

Frank recently made an oil pulling mixture for us using
organic virgin cold-pressed coconut oil and activated charcoal. I have found
that if I wait until later in the morning to oil pull before brushing my teeth
I just won’t do it. Once the sun rises it is time for meditation, then
breakfast, then yoga, and then work! For the past few days I’ve remembered this
and oil pulling has become one of the first things I do in the morning. Today,
I tended to the cat boxes while swishing. I can go about 5 minutes, minimum,
before the oil starts running down my throat and gags me. I floss and brush and
my morning dental routine is complete!

We don’t use artificial light in the morning (as much as we
can). We have salt lamps guiding our way and I light a beeswax candle every
morning and that works for me. I do turn on the light in the laundry room when
I’m cleaning the litter boxes, that is one of the few lights in the house that
isn’t orange or red, and as soon as I’m done it’s off again. We’ve done a good
job of reducing the blue light in our home. The bathroom has a red light and
the kitchen has low iridescent lighting, but like I said the candle and salt
lamp are usually enough for me. And as for this computer screen…I’m wearing
daytime blue blocking glasses which give everything a yellowy orangey tone, and
I lowered the brightness of my screen almost as low as it can go. I’m not
messing around. What would be the point of having a candle in front of me if I
had bright blue light shining in my face?!

It’s nearing sunrise and as I look to the east through a
kitchen window I see a white sky. We won’t be travelling to see the sunrise
today. The entire sky is white right now. I just looked at the weather on my
phone (the first thing I’ve looked at on my phone this morning) and it looks as
if we have some snow coming our way! And I just turned to look out the windows
again and it’s snowing! Haha.

I am thankful for all those mornings we rushed to see the
sun rising. It’s really helped me create routine. We may be missing the sunrise
lately but we are meditating and practicing yoga every morning. In my opinion,
finding ways to slow down your mornings is one of the best ways to improve your
health and happiness. How do you like to spend your mornings!?!

The sun has risen. The birds announced it a few minutes past
and now they are quiet again. It’s snowing pretty good now and everything is
still. I just blew out the candle. It’s time to start the day. Happy Monday!!!
Love,
Jen
