RISE WITH THE SUN AND ALIGN WITH YOUR TRUE PURPOSE--CHALLENGE Day 1

Sunday February 10, 2019
__
Hey folks! Happy Sunday. Happy Birthday for anyone celebrating today!! It’s a nice winter day here in Upstate New York. How’s the weather in your neighborhood? My cat Delano woke me around 5am today. He wakes me almost every morning and usually I’m annoyed by it because I want to sleep longer. But to be honest, I enjoy being up and about in the early morning hours. I am grateful he wakes me most days...after I've been up and have had a wonderful morning! I'm working toward having these thoughts of gratitude as soon as I wake up instead of hours into the day.
__
I must practice thinking of him like an alarm, or a rooster, and begin utilizing his “annoying” tendencies as a wake-up call. As Abraham Hicks says in one of her videos about manifestation and alignment in regards to making the decision in the morning that you have a clean slate, instead of falling immediately back into old thought patterns I can choose to begin my day with, “Hey! I’m awake! And Hey the law of attraction is beginning again! And Hey while I was slumbering my point of attraction ceased! And Hey I get to choose what I focus upon! What would be a good thing for me to focus upon!?” I really like the idea of this and I feel if I can associate Delano with this little mantra of sorts then I’ll begin putting this into practice. Too many mornings have been spent in a negative head space. I don't deserve that, you don't deserve that. For the next 30 days I will be practicing this mantra every day.
__
Sometimes I wake on my own, and then there are times I ignore Delano's wake up call and I sleep until almost 7am. Frank and I have been traveling up the road a few miles on clear mornings to watch the sunrise. There’s a rest stop on the highway heading northeast out of town and it’s the perfect place to watch the sunrise. We started this tradition in October and only recently have taken a break because of the snowy, cloudy winter mornings. And since we stopped the mornings are rapidly getting earlier and earlier. We are in the last few days of sunrises after 7am, until DST begins.  Wednesday will be the day, sunrise 7:01am. Thursday, sunrise 6:59am.
__
March 9th the sun rises at 6:23am, the next day, March 10th, the sun rises at 7:21am. The sunrise isn’t changing one bit, just our clocks. That is if you follow the DST tradition. There is no rule in humanity that says we have to follow DST. Many of us follow this tradition because federal businesses do.
__
If you get up with the sunrise every day, the change may not be noticeable. I’m looking forward to the experience this time around. But if you get up to an alarm clock that wakes you every day, then you may have a more challenging experience. We have one month to prepare. Will you be turning your clocks ahead?  Will you be ready? I usually wait days...as long as I can until I've confused enough house guests. Haha.
__
If you’re at all bothered by the changing of the clocks but you have to follow along because of obligations that seem outside of your control, then I highly recommend waking a little earlier every day until then. If you wake up at 7am every day, start waking up earlier so by the time March 9th rolls around you’ll be getting up closer to 6am. Then the next day when businesses everywhere move their clocks ahead, you’ll be back to getting up at 7am, but it won’t feel any differently. You just may not have that extra time in the morning anymore, now it will be at night. After work, or wherever or whatever you must go or do during the day, take that extra hour for yourself. You deserve it! And on the other hand, if waking earlier begins to suit you, then try to continue waking before the sunrise. This will become more challenging as we get closer to the earliest sunrise of the year. Are you up for the challenge? According to my sunrisesunset.com calendar the earliest sunrise is going to be June 15th. It’s been quite accurate for driving up the road to catch the sun rising on time. Try out adding it to the Home Screen on your phone to help you track your local sunrise and sunset times!
__
This will be my first year attempting the challenge of waking before sunrise in the Spring and Summer seasons. Autumn and Winter aren’t as challenging with sunrises ranging between 7 and 7:30am. Our earliest sunrise will be June 15th at 5:19am! That will be an early morning! Will I see you then? And so the challenges begin. Wake with the sun and align with your true purpose!

Love,
Jen
