Well it’s another day here in Upstate New York. It looks
like another cloudy and snowy morning is upon us. It’s hard to tell right now,
the sky is a faint blue and at 6:30 in the morning there are no signs of a
visible sunrise. My morning began a little differently, but basically the same.
I made it here to write, that is the most important thing for me right now.
Happy Birthday to all of you celebrating! A special shout out to Rebecca
Jolleen, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

How are the challenges going?? Well I forgot to repeat my
mantra upon waking…practice, practice, practice. Waking up early isn’t much of
a challenge, yet. Today I got up just before 5am. When I first awoke I thought
it was after 6am, must’ve been a dream. I glanced at the phone quick to see it
was 4:50am. I waited a few minutes...this is the ideal time to use the mantra,
but I forgot. I was too concerned about being quiet enough to not wake Frank as
I got out of our squeaky bed. I grabbed some clothes and slippers and slowly
made my way down our squeaky stairs. I like to be quiet when people are
sleeping. I am a light sleeper myself and I know how hard it can sometimes be
to fall back to sleep when woken up. Frank’s schedule differs from mine a bit.
I have a hard time staying awake past 9pm and he has a hard time going to bed
before midnight. He has the nights and I have the mornings.

It’s almost sunrise and the sky is still a faint blue, no
yellows or pinks or oranges, just a lot of white and blue. I saw on the weather
forecast we may be getting some snow today. In a few hours the storm could
begin and it may not end until tomorrow. Snow goers will be happy, although the
weekend would probably be a better time for the snow for most people around
here. Weekday snow just frustrates people trying to rush to and from work. This weather becomes much more fun when you don't have to drive in it.

Neither Frank nor I have to leave the house by someone else's order anymore. Since I met him
he’s worked for himself, before then it was construction companies, asbestos
jobs, distribution centers, jobs with bosses who tell you how and when to do
your work. It works for them, doesn’t work for many of us. Regardless of not
having to leave the house to “go to work” Frank still doesn't like the snow all that much, but he is the one who has to move it all! Much love to that man! I always have loved snow since I was
a kid. I’ve been stuck in it, multiple times, I’ve shoveled it out of a four
car driveway for one winter, I’ve walked through it on campus in Oswego, New
York. I loved it almost the whole time. Learning to dress more appropriately
for the weather really helped me learn to love it again.

That’s all for today! I did a few more chores this morning
leaving me with a smaller window for writing than yesterday. We’ll see how I do
tomorrow! Have a splendid Tuesday!!
Love,
Jen
